Debbie Margalit
Born in 1961 in Washington D.C., U.S.A. Moved to Israel in 1965. Grew up in Haifa. After her military service in the IDF, studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and graduated with a BA in Philosophy and General Studies. Worked at Columbia University Press in New York, and at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel in Jerusalem. Started painting in 1998, studying with two artists in Jerusalem – Rory Alwiess and Jordan Wolfson. Continued her studies at The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture in New York in the atelier of Graham Nickson and graduated with an MFA in Painting. Lives and paints in Jerusalem.
